Associate Director, CCIA Europe
Jakob Kucharczyk joined the Computer and Communications Industry Association in June 2010. As Associate Director of the CCIA in Europe, he is responsible for closely monitoring and evaluating recent policy developments at European Union level in the newly created Brussels office. He also participates in the formulation of the organization’s policy positions in the EU.
Before joining the CCIA, he completed a traineeship at the European Commission in DG Enterprise and Industry. Working for the Automotive Unit, he was actively involved in the preparation of new legislative proposals and the corresponding impact assessments. Furthermore, he gained considerable experience in EU policies during two internships at the Saxon State Ministry of Economic Affairs and Labour and the Polish Ministry of Regional Development in Warsaw where he was responsible for the implementation of EU cross-border regional initiatives.
Mr. Kucharczyk received his BA degree in European Studies from Maastricht University where he graduated cum laude. He also holds two LLM degrees in European law from Maastricht University where he graduated cum laude and from the University of Edinburgh. During both LLM studies Mr. Kucharczyk extensively focused on EU competition and internal market law.
A native German speaker, Mr. Kucharczyk is also fluent in English as well as Polish and has a basic knowledge of French and Spanish.
