Washington, DC- The Computer & Communications Industry Association (CCIA) has joined the Office of the Secretary of Defense, the Federal CIO Council, the National Information Assurance Partnership (a partnership between the National Security Agency and the National Institute of Standards and Technology), and the Interoperability Clearinghouse (ICHnet.org) to co-host the Spring Secure E-Business Executive Summit, scheduled for May 7-9, 2001 at the Crystal City Hilton in Arlington, Virginia.
The summit, a joint government/industry initiative, will detail the viable strategies, architectures and technologies to successfully transform E-government, including methods to leverage emerging Internet and Information Assurance solutions based on commercial industry best practices.
Other international open systems leaders participating in assembling this program include: the Canadian Department of National Defense; the Center for Internet Security; the Council for Excellence in Government; the General Services Administration; the National Imagery and Mapping Agency; the Object Management Group; the US Treasury CIO; and the Department of Veterans Affairs.
Leading solution providers and architects who will be detailing secure Internet infrastructure architectures include: AT&T; The OBJECTive Technology Group; Iona Technologies; KPMG; Lockheed Martin; Oracle; TIBCO; RSA Security; and PWC Global.
Publications partners supporting this event include CIO Magazine (CXO Media), Computerworld, Federal Computer Week, Government Computer News, PostNewsWeek, and Washington Technology.
This year’s program will detail the strategies, architectures and technologies necessary for a successful transformation to the new computing paradigm, focusing on Electronic Commerce Conference Working Group recommendations to the Deputy Assistant Secretary of Defense on how DOD can better engage the new E-Business model in government (posted at ICHnet.org).
Domain focus areas covered will include e-Security, e-Healthcare, e-Finance, e-Government, and e-Media systems. A CIO Roundtable Luncheon will be held on both May 7th and 8th. Distinguished speakers from that day’s program will join the Federal CIO Community in discussions about today’s critical topics in secure e-business.
