CCIA Joins in Call for Senate Support for Comprehensive Immigration Reform Bill

The Computer & Communications Industry Association today joined more than 100 technology sector executives in a letter calling on the U.S. Senate to support passage of S. 744, the Border Security, Economic Opportunity and Immigration Modernization Act of 2013.  “Senate approval of S. 744 is essential if our economy will continue to foster innovation and invigorate many U.S. business sectors through an educated and highly skilled workforce of domestic and foreign-born talent.”

The following statement can be attributed to CCIA President & CEO Ed Black:

“Ideas and research from talented people are the raw materials with which the technology industry has been built, and CCIA has long called for skilled immigration reform as a way to ensure their continued supply.”

“The high-skilled immigration reform measures contained in this bill will help ensure that the U.S. remains the global center of innovation by increasing companies’ access to skilled foreign-born workers, and enabling innovative companies to better compete in the global talent marketplace.”
