Washington — On behalf of the Consumer Video Choice Coalition, CCIA  filed an ex parte letter with the FCC this afternoon. It refutes the most recent claims made by some of the biggest content companies as the FCC continues to try to unlock cable companies’ control over set top boxes. The following can be attributed to CCIA President & CEO Ed Black:

“The content companies appear to finally recognize that parity is important for competition. However, in reality they are trying to undermine features consumers enjoy, which are essential to competition — like home recording. We hope the FCC will see through these tactics and that TV consumers will see a solution that allows them to watch the content they’ve paid for on the device of their choosing.”
