Industry groups call on EU telecoms ministers to support intra-EU data flow regulation

Brussels, BELGIUM — Today 22 industry groups sent a joint letter to the 28 European telecoms ministers urging them to “support an ambitious EU legislative proposal to prohibit unjustified data localisation” laws within the EU at the upcoming Telecommunications Council on the 2nd December.

“The Single Market must be future-proofed and its principles extended to the digital economy,” the letter states.

Signatories include Allied for Startups, International Telecommunications Users Group, DIGITALEUROPE and CCIA Europe.
