Washington — The Computer & Communications Industry Association released a statement, along with 10 other industry associations today, offering recommendations for the members of the G20 ahead of the G20 Digital Economy Ministerial taking place on August 23-24 in Argentina.

The Argentinian Presidency of the G20 set ambitious goals for discussions on the digital economy, building off positive work from last year. The industry statement makes recommendations with respect to Argentina’s identified priorities for 2018 including digital inclusion efforts, future jobs skills and training, promoting SMEs and entrepreneurship, and encouraging innovation in “Industry 4.0” and emerging technologies.

The following can be attributed to CCIA President & CEO Ed Black:

“We encourage the G20 to use this opportunity to discuss the positive role technology plays in global economic growth. The tech industry is offering its recommendations on how to further enable this growth by encouraging investment and removing barriers that would prevent a thriving digital economy that supports both innovation and traditional companies.”
