Washington — The Computer & Communications Industry Association joined organizations representing global companies and entrepreneurs in a letter  urging the World Trade Organization to continue its progress on its ambitious e-commerce framework. The letter notes it is up to countries to clarify and improve the existing framework “around trade facilitation, services, digital trade, transparency and trust to improve the ability of businesses of all sizes and across all industries to benefit from the global digital marketplace.”

CCIA has supported open markets and trade for more than four decades. The following can be attributed to CCIA President & CEO Ed Black:

“We appreciate the efforts of WTO members to pursue discussions on digital trade, and would encourage them to continue their work so that businesses of all sizes and entrepreneurs can benefit from the global digital marketplace.”
