Cathy Sloan has over 25 years of experience in telecom law, regulation and legislative work. She serves as an advocate for CCIA’s policy agenda at the highest levels of the federal government and has appeared on C-SPAN 2’s the Communicators Series program. Ms. Sloan has played an active leadership role in recent policymaking debates over open Internet access, patent reform, online copyright, and telecom antitrust and interconnection cases. Cathy served as VP Government Relations for LDDS Communications and successor MCI WorldCom. She was VP Congressional Relations, also responsible for public relations, at the trade association CompTel before joining one of its member companies. Cathy was a key industry player in the negotiations leading up to the passage of the Telecom Act of 1996 and its implementation by the FCC. She was a member of the Board of Directors of the Competitive Long Distance Coalition and of CompTel.
