CCIA Welcomes New Members

Washington – A day ahead of its annual Washington Caucus convening leaders from Congress, the Administration and the tech industry, the Computer & Communications Industry Association welcomed Aereo, British Telecom (BT) and TiVo as its newest members. These innovative companies join CCIA’s broad and influential member base, which also recently added Allegro, Foursquare, Pandora and Samsung.

Since its beginnings in 1972, CCIA has fought for pro-innovation policies and has been the leading advocate for market innovators who create new competition and disrupt markets. The following can be attributed to CCIA President & CEO Ed Black:

“We are pleased that these companies, that are bringing innovative products and services to consumers and competition to the marketplace, have chosen CCIA to help advance policies of importance to them, the industry, and the public interest.

“These companies provide important business perspectives to CCIA as we continue to fight for pro-innovation and competition policies from balanced copyright and patent reform to Internet freedom and open Internet access in the United States, through CCIA’s European office, and in many global forums. We recognize that specific challenges like the ongoing Supreme Court case involving Aereo can often impact not just individual companies, but as in this case, the entire Internet economy.  We are proud of our advocacy on behalf of our diverse range of companies in the tech industry which provides recommendations to policymakers and courts as we work toward meaningful reforms which promote innovation through effective public policy.”
