Dan
Johnson is General Counsel for the Computer and Communications Industry
Association. He also serves as Corporate Secretary for CCIA's Board of
Directors. Before joining the staff of CCIA in 2003, he served as an associate
attorney at an Intellectual Property law firm in Miami, Florida and as
a law clerk for a general civil litigation practice in Atlanta,
Georgia. Prior to attending Law School, he worked as a computer
consultant, a human resources specialist, and served our country in the Armed Forces. He has worked in different sectors of the economy, including, information technology, telecommunication, travel, insurance and intellectual property.
Mr.
Johnson received his Jurist Doctorate degree form the University Miami
School of Law. He received his Bachelors of Arts in management and
criminal justice from Concordia University - Wisconsin where he
graduated with honors. He also received an advanced legal certificate
in Law and Government from Washington College of law at American
University in Washington, D.C. While serving in the military he was
awarded an Associates Degree of Applied Science with a concentration in
Management from the Community College of the Air Force.
In
Mr. Johnson's capacity at CCIA he is responsible for the day-to-day
operations of CCIA. Among his many duties as General Counsel he
oversees all contracts and is responsible for managing outside
lobbyists, consultants and legal counsels. Mr. Johnson also serves as a
senior lobbyist working on many issues of importance to CCIA's members.
Drawing on his background of over 13 years experience in technology and
telecommunications he also serves in the capacity of the Chief
Technologist.
