Tech Industry Offers Recommendations Ahead of G20 Trade & Digital Ministers Meeting

Washington — The Computer & Communications Industry Association released a statement, along with other industry associations today, offering recommendations for the members of the G20 ahead of the G20 Digital Economy Ministerial taking place on June 8-9 in Tsukuba, Ibaraki, Japan.

For this year’s G20 Meeting of the Digital Economy Ministers, the Japanese Presidency focused on digital trade and the importance of modernizing trade rules for the 21st century global economy. Industry supports Japan’s commitment to enabling digital trade flows while strengthening trust in digital services, and encourages all G20 members to support policy frameworks that will further these goals.

The following can be attributed to CCIA President & CEO Ed Black:

“Japan’s recognition that digital economy is intertwined with global commerce is key. G20 members should take advantage of this opportunity to renew commitments to enabling digital trade.”
