One of Europe’s great challenges is how to design smart policies that enable Europeans to take full advantage of all the benefits technology offers. Digitisation can make Europe’s globally competitive and technology can help solve major societal challenges.

However, transformative technologies obviously also raise new questions. We welcome this scrutiny and debate and we want to help find workable solutions. Sometimes the answer is regulation, sometimes industry action can be faster and more effective.

CCIA is particularly advocating for balanced and modern copyright rules, online freedoms, startup-first policies, globally interoperable rules, digital trade, cybersecurity, encryption, privacy, fair competition and consumer choice.
